Most recent updates in the ongoing investigation of a potential Crunchyroll breach suggests it is only limited through customer service tickets after a third-party vendor incident, reported by Michael Kan, from PC Mag. The hacker claims the breach occurred on 12 Mar 20261.

As of 4 Apr 2026, the breach has been considered resolved. "The Crunchyroll breach data, leaked via an Indian outsourcing partner, has been sold. 1.2 million of 2 million customer records were purchased by a single buyer."2.
