On Tuesday, 31 March 2026, the leak of Anthropic's Claude Code (version 2.1.88) accidentally leaked to the public npm registry. No customer data or credentials were exposed, an Anthropic spokesperson described.1

The code that was leaked is still currently available publicly. The leaked code does not include Claude AI model, cannot be executed, and no exposure to API users. There are potential legal risks to downloading the leaked code. The leak was from a packaging mistake. Despite the leak, Claude AI continues to function normally. 2
