Tom Jøran Sønstebyseter Rønning, a security researcher in Norway discovered the method Microsoft Edge's password manager saves passwords in plain text in Random Access Memory (RAM) where passwords in most situations are encrypted when stored. While not a concern for remote access, anyone using the device locally. Rønning shared his findings with Microsoft. Microsoft responded that it is an intended feature¹.
