It’s true. If your computer still has Windows 10, depending on compatibility, starting October 14, 2025 it will no longer receive updates and you will be forced to use Windows 11. Here are some of your options:

If your computer is not compatible with Windows 11, an option is to BUY NEW (or used) HARDWARE that is compatible with Windows 11. The result is having additional costs for new hardware but also, the less obvious, is increasing e-waste pollution created from having and buying hardware.

Another option to consider is migrating to another operating system such as Mac/Apple or Linux. At least for Apple, the same issues could still arise (moving from Intel to M series chips) that someone could experience with the Windows ecosystem. This makes Linux a potential option, of course, with some caveats and advantages as a worthy alternative, despite being widely used in the tech industry, falls way below the others, as far as usage goes as a desktop operating system.

Regardless of what direction you go with, A VR STORY LLC (https://www.avrstory.net) can assist you in your decision making, as well as migrating your old files to your new system. While I would encourage the use of Linux because it’s free and quite mature as a desktop operating system, I completely understand the preferences that work for you. If you would like help with the aforementioned service(s), I can be reached at +1-774-328-7949. If you would like to donate your old hardware, I might be able to re-purpose it to help minimize e-waste pollution.
